Eminem: EVERY Album Ranked Worst To Best
4. The Marshall Mathers LP 2
Thirteen years after releasing one of hip-hop's most iconic and influential albums, Eminem went ahead with a sequel which sounds like an imminent failure on paper. But it was far from it. Instead, the MMLP 2 was a lyrical slaughter in which the Real Slim Shady showed off his unrivalled wordplay, speed and intelligence.
With titles like Survival, Headlights and Legacy, he showed just how far he had come since the beginning of his career. Funny, witty but often thoughtful and moving, every song packs a punch with their killer lyrics and brilliant beats.
Not only does the album capture the essence of what made his original album so incredibly popular, but it also demonstrates his growth as an artist. Rap God is insanely quick and broke numerous records; Berserk is catchy as all hell and deserves to be played on a loop till the end of time; and Bad Guy serves as a fitting - if happily ridiculous - follow-up to his masterpiece Stan, and also features one of the rapper's best-ever verses.
It shouldn't have worked, but it hit all the right marks from the first track and never let up.
Best songs: Bad Guy, Rap God, Berserk, Love Game, Survival, Headlights.
