Eminem: EVERY Album Ranked Worst To Best
3. The Slim Shady LP
Eminem's iconic Slim Shady persona may have been introduced in The Slim Shady EP in '97, but it was with 1999's LP that fans got their first full look at the rapper and his daring approach to his work. Produced by mentor Dr Dre and full to bursting with hit upon hit, the LP is a quintessential rap album and will forever be one of the all-time greats.
The album thrust Eminem into superstardom, thanks in part to his unflinching lyrics and songs such as My Name Is and Just Don't Give a F*ck, both of which capture the feel of the album from the get-go. Eminem knows he's silly, he knows he's having fun, but he's also lyrically superior to most in the game, and he knows it.
The SSLP is unapologetic, dark, satirical, harsh, confrontational and full of wit - and it's tough to beat. Unless you're Eminem, that is.
Best songs: My Name Is, Guilty Conscience, Role Model, Just Don't Give a F*ck, Rock Bottom.
