Every Arctic Monkeys Single Ranked Worst To Best
20. One For The Road
One final drink as you head off on to the road and an insanely smooth and sleek song.
One for the Road was the fourth released single off the band’s album AM. Produced by Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, the song features lots of QOTSA influence and similar mannerisms as well as rockabillity and blues in for good measure. Alex Turner has been keen to point out just how massively R&B influenced the song too, name dropping Outkast, Aaliyah and Dr Dre as massive influences on the sound.
One For the Road features the big, stylish, firework of a guitar solo as it’s stand out moment. This track is one heck of a stylish mood, but the band managed to take it so much further than that on AM (as you’ll soon see).
