Every Beatles Album's Opening Track Ranked From Worst To Best

5. A Hard Day’s Night - A Hard Day’s Night

Is there a more legendary opening chord in all of music than the one that kicks off A Hard Day’s Night?

From the moment that rings out, you know exactly what you’re going to hear and you know it’s going to be a good time. Honestly, that chord on its own elevates this song to the next level, but there’s some other stuff that needs discussing as well.

*Sigh*

It’s another love song, naturally, but one anchored by that iconic phrase. Apparently the mantra came from Ringo making a mess of a sentence, something he apparently did often.

Oh, Ringo.

At three albums in, the group is perfectly polished by this point. The different musical elements of A Hard Day’s Night come together perfectly, smoothly propelling the song along to the point where you barely notice that it’s come to an end.

Also, to not talk about the actual music again, it’s impossible to hear this number and not think of that amazing opening scene from the film.

You just try not to picture the Fab Four running through the streets being chased by a mob of marauding teenage girls. Just try.
