Every Blink-182 Album Ranked From Worst To Best
8. Cheshire Cat - 1995
Cheshire Cat is basically a tuned-up version of Buddha; it's fast-paced and all over the place, but not quite as rough as it's predecessor. There are signs from Carousel to Wasting Time that there was a diamond inside the cacophony of immature lyrics and toe-tapping riffs, but at this point, the trio was having fun by naming their songs Does My Breath Smell? and Ben Wah Balls.
Seven songs from Buddha were re-recorded for the first officially credited album release from Blink-182 (despite what actual member of the band Mark Hoppus says: what does he know?), and the likes of M+M's and the aforementioned Carousel have stuck around in the memory for the majority of long-time fans of the band.
It's hard to admit this about a band as iconic as Blink-182, but their first two Hoppus-approved records haven't stood up to the test of time. It's unfair to say listening back to Cheshire Cat is Wasting Time, but the wordplay was too obvious to pass up. Every artist has to hone their craft somewhere; while these songs were never destined to be chart-toppers, the beginnings of Blink’s journey properly kicked off right here.
