Every Bob Dylan Album Ranked Worst To Best

27. Shot Of Love (1981)

The final and strongest instalment of the Christian Trilogy, Shot Of Love finds Dylan treading over much of the same ground as the album's predecessors, but with more engaging music and a more refined, jubilant vocal performance from Dylan himself.

With a tighter focus on rock ballads rather than overly gospel-heavy tunes, Shot Of Love features great songs like Every Grain Of Sand, as well as the title track, which takes aim at substance abuse.

A fast-paced, exciting if slightly derivative album, Shot Of Love is an 80s highpoint - though the competition isn't too fierce.
