Every Bob Dylan Album Ranked Worst To Best

17. John Wesley Harding (1967)

After a handful of albums infusing more a rock-centric sound into his work, Dylan returned to his folk roots with his eighth record, John Wesley Harding.

The album features Dylan at his most groovy and fun, crafting confident, storytelling lyrics against a folk-pop background, and songs like All Along The Watchtower and I'll Be Your Baby Tonight remain some of his most popular songs.

The crowning achievement of the album, though, has to be Dylan's harmonica playing, which has never been better - as fierce or demanding - as it is here.
