Every Bob Dylan Album Ranked Worst To Best
16. Infidels (1983)
Dylan's best album of the 80s, Infidels followed on from his much-discussed Christian Trilogy, and found him going back to basics with his searing lyricism and daring musical twists.
His religious themes aren't entirely left behind here, mind (just check out Jokerman), but the mix of political commentary and social discourse makes it feel like a welcome leftover from Dylan's almost-perfect 60s run.
From a storytelling and musical standpoint, Infidels is one of Dylan's most evocative, strange and exciting projects, even if it doesn't entirely make up for the divisive albums before it.
