Every Bob Dylan Album Ranked Worst To Best

37. Down In The Groove (1988)

Recorded over six years and suffering numerous setbacks, Down In The Groove fails to make up for the hassle that went into making it. Even with its high profile supporting acts - including The Grateful Dead, Steve Jones, and Ronnie Wood - aren't enough to save the record from its inescapable sloppiness.

With added focus on guest appearances, Down In The Groove moves between tone and sound with little tact, and though the single When Did You Leave Heaven? shows Dylan is at least trying to salvage the messy wreckage, the rest of the songs just aren't up the challenge.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Every great film should seem new every time you see it. Be excellent to each other.
