4. The Gang's All Here
The Gang's All Here, the band's sophomore effort, is the first record featuring current lead vocalist Al Barr and the last with original guitarist Rick Barton. Fresh off of a landmark debut album, The Gang's All Here brings the aggressive street punk of Do or Die while laying the groundwork for what would become their signature Irish/punk hybrid sound.
The album's single, "10 Years of Service" covers the familiar lyrical topic of blue-collar workers within an infectious punk groove. Two cover songs grace the tracklist: Amped up traditional tunes "Amazing Grace" and "The Fighting 69th".
Other standout tracks include anthemic ballad "Wheel of Misfortune", the in-your-face "Curse of a Fallen Soul" and sing-along title track "The Gang's All Here".
In hindsight, The Gang's All Here presents as the efforts of a band in transition. The raw sound of Do or Die is still prominent, but it is in songs like "Wheel of Misfortune" and "The Fighting 69th" plant the seeds that really began sprouting on the following record, Sing Loud, Sing Proud. This is a must-have album for anyone who really goes for the bands heavier sound.
