Every Dropkick Murphys Albums Ranked Worst To Best

3. The Warrior's Code

Dropkick Murphys' fifth album was not only their last on longtime label Hellcat Records, but also touted their biggest hit song to date.

The Warrior's Code marked the first time the band was able to enjoy the freedom of recording under their own label, Born and Bred. Tonally, the album feels like the result of seven guys having a great time making a record.

Starting with opening track "Your Spirit's Alive", The Warrior's Code works as a cohesive front-to-back album rather than a disjointed collection of songs.

The second track "The Warrior's Code" keeps the fists pumping skyward before moving into the comical, adulterous third song "Captain Kelly's Kitchen". DKM is typically good for one funny track on an album. This time, they presented the bitingly sarcastic "Wicked Sensitive Crew".

Other standout tracks include the all-out aggressive "Citizen C.I.A." followed by traditional ballad "The Green Fields of France (No Man's Land)".

The obvious gem of The Warrior's Code is "I'm Shipping Up To Boston", their biggest hit to date. After being featured in the Martin Scorsese film The Departed, "I'm Shipping Up To Boston" helped put the Murphys on the mainstream map. The track has been certified as double platinum.
