Every Iron Maiden Album Opening Song Ranked From Worst To Best

6. Prowler - Iron Maiden

Because The Ides of March was an instrumental and he would fall out massively with the rest of the band prior to The Number of the Beast, the only Iron Maiden album opener to feature Paul Di'Anno on vocals is the one on their very first record.

The self-titled 1980 release might have ushered in a new era of metal, but the band sounded very different from how they do today. Still, the first song, Prowler, is a lot of fun, a fast-paced, angry song about going out on the town.

Di'Anno's vocals fit the darker, dingier content of the track, and Prowler still holds up as an aggressive, punk-inspired metal song to this day.

Just a shame this is the only one of its kind on this list.
