Every Iron Maiden Album Opening Song Ranked From Worst To Best

5. Moonchild - Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son

If you don't like weird spoken word openings that talk about the pope, then you're probably not going to enjoy the song Moonchild from Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.

The band's seventh album (if that wasn't already clear) kicks off with a mystical acoustic section and the aforementioned religious lyrics, before eventually transforming into speed metal bliss.

Moonchild is a constant blast of noise, with a bassline from Steve Harris thick enough to make cement from. The otherworldly elements of the lyrics are nice too, making for a nice change to the usual war-based content of Maiden's tracks.

It's a song that will probably divide opinion, but Moonchild is so unique that it deserves to be this high up.
