Every My Chemical Romance Single Ranked Worst To Best

17. Desolation Row

Unlike Under Pressure, My Chemical Romance's take on Bob Dylan classic Desolation Row (recorded for Watchmen's soundtrack) is a welcome reinvention, the band transforming a slow acoustic number into a rousing punk song worthy of its subject matter.

In fact, MCR's take on Desolation Row is so different from Dylan's that it hardly seems like a cover, and is almost a brand new song in its own right.

Sounding more like Green Day than anything else released by the New Jersey behemoths, Desolation Row is an interesting glimpse into the direction MCR might have followed if they decided to finalise Conventional Weapons, instead of scrapping that ill-fated record to head back into the studio and write Danger Days.
