Every Papa Roach Album Ranked From Worst To Best
6. Ego Trip
Coming into 2022, a majority of old school Papa Roach fans had become somewhat disenchanted by recent album campaigns. An invigorated focus on radio friendly rock conventions and production qualities drew the band towards pop at times, though fans who craved the grit of prior material were found wanting. This all changed though, thanks to the release of the band's twelfth (technically eleventh) studio album, 'Ego Trip', back in April.
As what must rank alongside the best comeback albums of the year, 'Ego Trip' delivered a level of enthusiasm, passion and focus that Papa Roach hadn't been able to achieve in at least a decade. Where the two (arguably three) albums which preceded it felt slightly generic and commercial, 'Ego Trip' wasn't afraid to show its teeth and bring some of that classic Papa Roach tenacity back to the surface, while also staying in tune with their modernised evolutions.
There isn't a bad song in sight on this record and it truly offers something for everyone. From the in-your-face, anthem tinted atmosphere of 'Kill the Noise', to the rap rock motivated beats of 'Liar', every song present manages to offer something completely unique. Other key songs include 'Swerve', 'No Apologies' and 'Killing Time'.
