Every Queen Album Closing Song Ranked From Worst To Best

13. The Hero - Flash Gordon

Flash Gordon was famously soundtracked by the titans of arena rock, giving the world one of the maddest film theme songs ever written (ahhh!).

That famous piece of music makes another appearance at the album's close, being incorporated into the song The Hero, which also features dramatic audio from the movie, as well as a brand new melody, lyrics, and a kickass guitar solo.

Whilst The Hero is big silly fun, much like the film it's taken from, there isn't enough new to warrant a high position on this list. It's mostly just the Flash theme again, and whilst there's nothing wrong with that, it's not fair to judge one song on the merits of another.

Still, considering how Queen could have phoned this job in, it didn't turn out too badly.
