Every Queen Album Opening Song Ranked From Worst To Best

12. Flash’s Theme - Flash Gordon

As they were responsible for all the songs on it, the soundtrack to the 1980 campy sci-fi extravaganza Flash Gordon technically counts as Queen's ninth studio album.

And how does it open? With what else but the most famous song from the film; its unofficial anthem, Flash's Theme.

Or, as it's better known, "FLASH! AHHHHHHH!"

More people have likely heard this song than they have seen the actual film it comes from, such is its place in pop culture. It's instantly memorable and matches the mad tone of the movie to a tee, as it triumphantly repeats the hero's name over and over again.

Is it a good song? Probably not, as it's a bit all over the place and would not work at all if weren't attached to something else. Is it a fun song? Absolutely.
