Every Queen Album Opening Song Ranked From Worst To Best

8. Play The Game - The Game

The Game from 1980 was the only Queen album to go to number one in the US, which is mad when you think about it. Americans clearly loved songs like Another One Bites the Dust and Crazy Little Thing Called Love, and, to a lesser extent, Dragon Attack and Don't Try Suicide.

At the front of the parade is Play the Game, an operatic ballad about the trials and tribulations of romance. It's nicely sung and performed, if a little slow to start, but that changes when it breaks down in the middle into a storm of epic synthesiser blasts and gnarly guitar licks.

Strong vocals, a catchy chorus, and memorable musical moments, Play the Game has it all.

Millions of Americans can't be wrong!
