This is a difficult one to place, almost as much as it is to describe. One certainty though is the name of the album suits it perfectly, given that the majority of the time spent listening to it you'll tend to feel like you've experienced something though you're probably not sure exactly as to what.

Unfortunately this disparaging entry into the dynasty that is Fleetwood Mac simply feels undeveloped, underwhelming and undercutting of the albums that preceded it. The melodic tones, symphony's and vocals are all very much brought to fruition as would be expected, especially after years of finely tuned refinement and some of the songs stand alone as memorable records, classics even!

However, as a product, the whole album feels rather disjointed.

Songs like Gypsy, the Book of Love and Only Over You feel meticulously crafted and clearly exhibit that the passion is still there, but the creativity really takes a backseat on this one. Exemplified perfectly by the song Empire State. Yet another song centred around the city that never sleeps, but from a band with little to no association to the city. Leaving the crowds reluctantly raising their eyebrows in bemusement rather than their hands in applause.
