Fleetwood Mac Albums Ranked From Worst To Best
10. Then Play On
Delving into the more obscure and the less synonymous with the casual fans' rapport, which admittedly is a crying shame considering that in the same vein as it's lead vocalists, this album hits all the right notes. At least when it's not delegating the magic to the strummed chords that so meticulously intertwine to create something seriously impressive, but seriously underrated.
A gigantic step up from the abysmally underwhelming "Mr.Wonderful", Then Play On is the Cher to it's Sonny. It shares the same ensemble of members as the albums that came before and even though the original Fleetwood Mac album of the same name was an unmatched masterpiece at the time of it's release, it isn't unchallenged as this valiant effort proves.
There's a reason it's been remastered again and again and that's not only to gain increased sales numbers and boost a profit; it also has the power of longevity on its side. The lyrics, drums, keys and chords all retain the same quality as they did way back when, with none of it feeling extraneously contemporaneous or even a reflection on the sign of the times.
Then Play On is a stellar album that should be played on repeat by those that can appreciate its illustrious arrangement and niche nuances.
