Guns N' Roses: 15 Obscure Tracks You've Probably Never Heard

6. Sentimental Movie

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSmVNUNLYOo Source: Hell House demo Recorded by Axl Rose and early GN'R collaborator the late West Arkeen at the "Hell House" on Fuller Avenue in Los Angeles, Sentimental Movie is another early demo (86) that was whipped together with the aid of a drum machine prior to Appetite for Destruction's recording session with Mike Clink. The lyrics show a bit of the evolution of lyricist Rose:
But this ain't no sentimental movie Where dreams collect like dust You talk to me with innocence in your eyes So now, who can you trust?
Straight-forward, but already moving beyond straight up sleaze rock. There's conflicting info as to whether it was recorded again later on, as part of sessions leading into the Illusion albums, but there are definitely multiple versions out there, with Duff on vocals, accompanied by Slash (some of the confusion comes from fan remixes).
