Guns N' Roses: 15 Obscure Tracks You've Probably Never Heard

12. Silkworms

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pe9KftblmTA Source: Live recordings In 2001 at their New Year's Eve show (they took the stage at 1AM on the 1st), Guns N' Roses performed a bunch of new songs for the first time. In 2008, all but one of them had been officially released on Chinese Democracy (and Oh My God on the End of Days soundtrack). The one that still remains unreleased: Silkworms. Don't go into this track expecting anything that sounds remotely like Guns N' Roses. It's more like an angry extension of My World, the universally despised final track on Use Your Illusion II. Written by long-time GN'R member Dizzy Reed and Chris Pittman (who has worked with Tool in the past), it's a loud, noisy cacophony featuring lyrics like "P---y full of maggots" and "what can I do with a b---- like you?" but it's not really that good. However, if you consider it as a "what might have been had the band really gone industrial" then it's interesting. Ultimately, the band went another direction, and we're thankful for that.
