1. It Might Not Even Be The Classic Line Up
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7i6sm11MPg At time of writing, we know that Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan will be involved in the Guns N Roses reunion, but this leaves two very important questions: Who is going to play guitar alongside Slash, and who is going to be behind the kit? For the classic line-up claim to be fulfilled, we have two options for drums, and one for guitar. Original skin-smasher Steven Adler played on Appetite For Destruction, but was fired in the run-up to the recording of the Use Your Illusion albums for his heroin use. He later sued the band and made a number of negative press comments, particularly about Rose. The other option is Adlers replacement, Matt Sorum, who was seen as much more reliable, but also the guy who changed the sound of the band, negatively in Izzy Stradlins opinion. As far as Stradlin himself is concerned, if its not him on guitar, its not the classic line-up, end of story. Well have to wait to see who else joins up, but there are reports that alongside Rose, Slash and McKagan, there will be five other people, and none of those include Stradlin, Adler or Sorum. Canadian music journalist Mitch Lafon has
claimed that long-term GnR live keyboard player Dizzy Reed will be present, and Velvet Revolver guitarist Dave Kushner will be on guitar, whilst the rest of the band will be made up of Axl dictatorship-era members: guitarist Richard Fortus (yeah, thats three guitarists), Frank Ferrer on drums and Chris Pitman on keys. So other than Axl Rose, we have two original members who have feuded with Rose for two decades, and four of Axls most trusted lieutenants. That should make for some pretty interesting chemistry onstage...
