It's Official THE STONE ROSES Reunite For World Tour in 2012

Manchester indie legends reforming for two huge homecoming shows at Heaton Park in Manchester on the 29th and 30th of June 2012..

UPDATE: Word has just reached us that the Stone Roses will now perform a 3rd show, on Saturday 1st July 2012. So the rumours were true, Manchester indie legends The Stone Roses have decided to deliver the news the world has been waiting for and have confirmed that they are reforming for two huge homecoming shows at Heaton Park in Manchester on the 29th and 30th of June 2012. The official announcement was made at a press conference at London€™s Soho Hotel at 3pm this afternoon with NME.com running a live blog from the event. It will be the first time in over 15 years that fans will have the chance to see the Stone Roses in concert. All four original band members Ian Brown, John Squire, Mani and Reni were in attendance as front-man Brown proclaimed;
€œThis is a live resurrection, and you€™re invited, so you€™d better be there.€
In addition to the Manchester shows the band confirmed that have already begun rehearsals for an extensive World tour as well as the promise of new material and when questioned on the possibility of a new album Brown was quick to answer, €œWe hope so. But we said that before didn€™t we.€ It also seems like guitarist John Squire and Brown have well and truly buried the hatchet with Squire stating;
"Everything changed when me and Ian started seeing each other again. It was surreal. We went from crying, laughing about the old days, to writing songs in a heartbeat.€
The Telegraph was quick to assume that Brown€™s decision to agree to a reunion was motivated by a costly divorce following his recent separation from his model wife Fabiola Quiroz, however it seems all four members of the group have their own personal reasons for the comeback not necessarily inspired by the pursuit of Fool€™s Gold. Whatever your opinion of The Stone Roses this is pretty momentous news for British music and will surely be one of the must see events of next year. The Stone Roses tickets for the Heaton Park gigs go on sale this Friday and will no doubt sell out in seconds.
