As one of the band's most radio friendly records, 'Point of Entry' followed on from the smash-hit success of 'British Steel' in style. Tunes such as 'Heading Out on the Highway' were key songs featured on this record, but other tunes such as the one in question went overlooked.

'Thunder Road' was a bonus track on the extended edition of 'Point of Entry' which came out in 2001. Initially, 'Thunder Road' was included in the session recordings for 1988's 'Ram It Down' record, but failed to make the final cut. However, it proved to be a great addition to Judas Priest's vast catalogue on tunes once it eventually came out and is still largely underrated.
