Despite the variety, depth, intricacy and possibilities which are encased within heavy metal, you will be hard pressed to find a band who have had as much influence over the genre as Judas Priest. Throughout their expansive, inspiring careers, Judas Priest have made 18 studio albums, several live records and toured prolifically across the world. They have given us some of the biggest hard rock and metal songs ever, with equally iconic records accompanying them. But, not every Judas Priest tune gets the credit it deserves.

Some songs from the heavy metal tyrants have been swept under the rug and lost in the mix over the years. In this list, we will count down 10 of the best songs Judas Priest have released over the years that you may not have heard before.

10. Race With The Devil

Although this cover of The Gun's single was initially recorded in 1978, it didn't see the light of day until as late as 2001. Originally, 'Race With The Devil' was intended to feature on Judas Proest's fourth studio record, 'Stained Class', but was relegated to the back catalogue and left off the final track list.

In 2001 Priest's third studio record, 'Sin After Sin', was remastered and re-released with two bonus tracks, one of which being this tune. This undercard Judas Priest tune is a perfect song choice for the band to cover. Telling the tale of a man trying to outrun the devil, the narrative and pace of the song suit Judas Priest's image and style perfectly.
