Judas Priest: 10 Best Songs You've Probably Never Heard

9. Dead Meat

A Judas Priest album which lacks the famous, harrowing and beckoning Halford vocals just doesn't seem right for many fans, which may be why 1997's 'Jugulator' is such a divisive record. As the first of just two records released during Halford's 11 year absence from the band, 'Jugulator' fell to a lukewarm reception from fans who simply missed Rob Halford.

Even if this era of Judas Priest's career has more or less been erased from heavy metal history, they still produced a handful of good tunes in this window. One of which was 'Dead Meat' which featured as a regular album track on 'Jugulator'.

Priest are more famed for their speed metal and traditional heavy metal approaches, but this song focused more on a dirtier groove metal tempo. You would never guess this is a Judas Priest song if you didn't already know and in some ways, that shows the diversity this line-up had, even if the overall quality of the material was sub-par.
