Kanye West: Every Album Ranked From Worst To Best

6. 808s & Heartbreak

Following Graduation, there were few who thought Kanye could change the rap landscape again with his next album. Much to the surprise of everyone, his fourth album 808s and Heartbreak may perhaps be the single most influential album on rap today. Released in the wake of the death of Kanye's mother, the music is incredibly emotionally charged and unlike anything that anyone had seen before.

The heavy unashamed use of autotune was shocking to listeners who only used to associate autotune with bad things. West's delivery managed to be both robotic and bursting with emotion at once, creating a completely new sound that the likes of Drake and Post Malone have all been imitating since.

If the rankings were based on influence alone this album would undoubtedly place first. However, the quality of the album can't quite match the influence. Due to the intense emotions of West, a lot of the songs are quite rough around the edges but still very listenable.
