Katy Perry: 10 Things We've Learnt From The Queen Of Pop

3. You Don€™t Need A Relationship To Be Happy

Another thing that Katy Perry has taught us is that you do not need to have a romantic relationship with a significant other in order to be happy. Instead, Perry teaches that happiness can be achieved in an abundance of other ways. Perry places a spotlight on her strong bonds with her family and friends and the strength and happiness that they give her. Her close bond with her family is detailed in her documentary concert film and in her appearance on MTV€™s Hoods. She showcases her relationship with her Grandmother and the fun that they share together, as well as the love and happiness that this relationship generates. Katy€™s sister Angela accompanied her on her California Dreams World Tour and they are shown to have a very close bond. Perry speaks very openly in her song By The Grace Of God about the support that Angela gave her following her divorce and thanks her personally in the song for €˜keeping my head above the water€™. This teaches us that a relationship with a significant other is not the sole key to being happy but that you can achieve happiness in life through your relationships with your friends, family and self. Perry€™s experiences also teach us how important it is to keep your friends and family close as they will be the ones who will be there for you should a romantic relationship turn sour.
