3. One of the Boys
Released in 2008, One of the Boys was the beginning of Katy's mainstream pop career. The first single to be released from the album was I Kissed A Girl (and I liked it) which shot to the top of the charts and has since won numerous music awards. The track received mixed reviews and was called controversial multiple times due to the nature of its lyrics, however this did not impede on its success and it is now one of the biggest selling singles ever worldwide. Not bad for a first single. The rest of the album also fails to disappoint and includes huge singles such as Waking up in Vegas, Hot 'n Cold and Thinking of You as well as lesser known tracks such as I'm Still Breathing and Lost which reveal a softer side to Katy which has been seen less and less since the release of her more commercial sounding album, Teenage Dream. Although it was an extremely successful album, it lacks the superstar quality that Katy appeared to attain with the release of Teenage Dream.
