2. "Within" - Psycho Circus, 1998
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DO9mKoL5xc4 With the phenomenal success of the reunion tour Kiss' original lineup released its first album since 1979's Dynasty in 1998. Psycho Circus was an instant success, debuting at #3 on the Billboard 200 upon release. The product, however, failed to live up to the hype and expectations of many (if not most) fans. After the album's title track there simply weren't a lot of highlights and sadly, quite a few low moments, the awful Peter Criss sung, "I Finally Found My Way" being the worst. Perhaps the most disappointing aspect for fans is that the album sounded nothing like what we thought a reunited Kiss would sound like. How the album received favourable reviews is a complete and utter mystery; there was simply none of the old magic and the album appeared to be a cash-in just like the reunion tour that spawned it. "Within" is a listenable track on an otherwise forgettable disc. The song is a heavy mid-tempo number and written soley by Simmons, a rarity worth mentioning.
