Kurt Cobain - Remembering Nirvana's 5 Best Ever Songs

4. All Apologies

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWmkuH1k7uA Another song from In Utero, All Apologies is a haunting rendition. It was made all the more chilling by the fact that it was the final song on the album - which ultimately proved to be Nirvana's last - giving it an even more tragic context. It is the the "Unplugged" version of "All Apologies" that I have decided to feature on my list, primarily because it was one of Kurt's final public appearances before his death the following year. Recorded in November 1993, Cobain tenderly reflects:
What else could I write? / I don't have the right / What else should I be? / All Apologies
This is Kurt stripped down to his vulnerable best and is one of the band's most somber songs in their entire discography. The Unplugged in New York rendition featured guitarist Pat Smear, who performed with Nirvana and also with the Foo Fighters, led by former Nirvana member Dave Grohl.
