4. Video Games
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cE6wxDqdOV0 Sometimes you can hear a song so often you just forget how wonderful it is. This was her introduction proper, a really subdued story of day to day life and love. The first time I heard this I thought 'nice Mazzy Star impersonation, but no cigar'. But repeated listens on the radio told me I was wrong. 'Video games' was the introduction to the story, and set the template words of devotion, sung by an angel that you wouldn't be ashamed to share on a second date, it' What seems simple on first listen is actually very deceptive it's a very complicated song, with a simple message, which is this - 'It's you'. Love songs should and must be as clear and pure as this. Lana makes lots of references to heaven being a place called love; the way she writes her songs makes me think she's one of the few artists who can sound credible doing that. Right, I've three songs to go and as you've just read; her most famous song isn't one of them.

What makes music fantastic? Star quality, amazing music, breathtaking lyrics and the ability to bring something new to the table, even if that means a new take on the classics. That's what I love to listen to and write about.
