Led Zeppelin: Ranking Their Studio Albums From Worst To Best
2. Led Zeppelin IV
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cN3ABDzdLls Led Zeppelin IV would be the top album of all time for many fans, let alone the top Zeppelin album and it is easy to understand why. From the brilliant driving riff that drives 'Black Dog' to the sweet mandolin trills of 'Battle of Evermore' to the centrepiece that is 'Stairway to Heaven', there isn't really one song here that one can't place as being mediocre. Everything is just firing on all cylinders and there's no doubt that the marriage of the heavy rock of the first two albums has meshed perfectly with the softer aspects of Led Zeppelin III. I could go on, but there is really no point. From the wispy, intimate beauty that is 'Going to California' to the bluesy, swampy groove that underpins the epic 'When the Levee Breaks', the album is simply amazing.
