https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ojFcMz9iAc As Brian Johnson once said, "Writing the most simple riffs is the hardest thing", as when you're trying to make something memorable without the whizz-bang pyrotechnics of higher-end scales or fancy picking patterns, all that's left is pure technique and signature feel. All that's a fancy way of saying even when Tremonti is essentially only playing open notes (save for a couple), it's still undeniably him. Over the last half-decade in particular we've seen him perfect his right hand technique - any Youtube clip where he's practicing is always suitably mind-blowing when it comes to speed and proficiency - and when you combine that crunching self-made rhythm with a downtuned Slipknot-style B-string the results are just as heavy as that sounds...
