Marvel Cinematic Universe: Soundtrack Scores Ranked From Worst To Best
3. Avengers: Endgame
This was always going to be the soundtrack that all of the others were blaring towards. Whether it was known early on which situation the heroes would find themselves in, it was safe to say that there were going to be a tonne of them together. Would Silvestri be able to do them all justice?
While several character themes do indeed return for Endgame, what Silvestri manages to do, much like in his first attempt all the way back in 2012, is create a musical experience that celebrates all in the story without necessarily singling many out. True, his Captain America theme does make an appearance, but this is not the stand out piece by a long shot.
The greatest cue of the film is undeniably Portals, playing over that scene. It manages to deliver on the epic promise offered by every preceding score to that point, even with the various continuity issues along the way. The scene in question celebrates ten years of filmmaking and the soundtrack was always going to have a tall order.
This film feels like a victory lap, though of course there will be more Marvel movies until Hollywood itself shuts down. The entire final act of the film is a musical tribute, rising with Portals, breaking hearts with The Real Hero and finally erupting with Main on End.
Very nearly the perfect Marvel score, Endgame delivered in spades.
