8. Can't Kill The Devil

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjXEXx-mIdc Vocals: Chuck Billy Lead & Rhythm Guitars: Alex Skolnick Bass: David Ellefson Drums: Mike Portnoy Additional Lead Guitar: Phil Demmel & Andreas Kisser For many, just the idea of Chuck Billy and Phil Demmel being in the same room together, rocking out and recording the potent genius the two of them would exude is cause to throw money in every direction with the hopes the end result is as awesome as it sounds. Luckily, it is, and then some. Although the core sound is very much what Testament would sound like in 2015 (being the track features Chuck Billy on vocals alongside bandmate Skolnick on guitar), Demmel brings some signature Machine Head-juice with a really neat escalating pattern in the second half. The best bit though comes right at the end, where you'll not get a more devil horn-throwing thing in life than Chuck Billy roaring the word "KILL!" as both guitarists and Portnoy are going hell for leather underneath. Many fans have taken to Youtube and chastised this for being a bit too close to Testament's core sound (as if that's a bad thing), but this immortal devil is in the details. When you've got a Testament sound upfront and a supremely tight run from Demmel tucked away inside - alongside the other guys just having a great time banging out a track with huge amount of intensity - it far outweighs any negatives.
