Metallica - Hardwired... To Self-Destruct: Ranking Every Song From Worst To Best
5. Moth Into Flame
Now we're getting into the real meat of the album, and Moth into Flame combines Load's distinctive sound with what unmistakably could basically be a Megadeth cast-off (though that's no bad thing).
Hetfield's lyrics and vocals are both totally on-point here, and though many have already criticised Ulrich's drum work for being rather uninspired on this album, he nevertheless brings the requisite intensity.
Kirk is meanwhile the shredding madman you want him to be, and this is basically one of the record's best examples of the band working extremely well together to create one hell of an epic sound.
As the album's second single, it was definitely a good choice to get fans hyped up again after the release of the fairly uninspired Hardwired.
