8. Black Or White
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2AitTPI5U0 Album: Dangerous MJ again lends some of his best vocal work and we witness great use of the guitar, in the rock track "Black or White". The first single and the song that headlined MJ's Dangerous album in 1991, "Black or White" was the standout song. A catchy, dance number that could get stuck in your head quite easily, this was the introduction to the Michael Jackson of the 1990's. The way the song played out just worked so well, there were the regular elements of pop and soul but with this song came hard rock. It was a refreshing change and again signaled a change in MJ's musical style. It fared very well on the charts and went on to sell over a million copies in the United States. A pretty cool music video, featuring child star and friend of Jackson's Macaulay Culkin, spawned from the song's success and to the day is still a much loved song.
7. Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8DKD0PoRSI Album: Thriller The first track on the Thriller album was "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" and while still keeping up with the disco vibes given from his previous album Off The Wall, "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' " was introducing us all to the Thriller album in the best possible fashion. A classic party track and a track that was used on all of MJ's tours and complication albums, "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' "is still one of MJ's greatest. The fast pace in which the song is played at, gives a funky and somewhat hyperactive buzz, while the guitar work in this track is exquisite. It is another one of those MJ songs, you can't help but not dance to, creating this party-like atmosphere when you are listening to it. It was easily one of the best songs to come from the Thriller album especially with it coming with the now iconic "Ma Ma Se, Ma Ma Sa, Ma Ma Coo Sa" vocal line.
