Myles Kennedy's 10 Most Impressive Vocal Moments

1. Breathe Again - Alter Bridge (AB III)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpDe6zb-EgU Oh Myles God At: 2:28 What could possibly top the list? Well how about almost an entire minute of the best vocals you'll hear in modern rock? Being that the song itself fits into the album's narrative of a person finding believe within themselves and realising the will to carry on is something that must be fostered themselves, this section in the song is the embodiment of that entire sentiment. Starting with a descending section that's accompanied by the band also heading into darker territory instrumentally, Myles describes the thought process of fighting back and out of the mindset our protagonist is in. This eventually leads to a passage at 2:55 that's easily the finest work he's ever recorded. With the part of the song needing to rally the listener and hit harder than anything that's gone before, the lyrics "Before the end/I know I'll breathe again/ To find my way" fit the mood perfectly well, leading to Myles' now signature escalating technique of breaking through into another octave just when you think he must have to stop for air. It's nothing short of incredible, and despite the album overall not meshing as well with some fans as the likes of Blackbird or Fortress, Breathe Again's showcase of talent and technique is yet to be beat.
