1. Kid A (2000)
Jonny Greenwood himself has said that Kid A is his "desert island" Radiohead record and that it is also the best record that the band ever made. Kid A is unlike any record ever made and such a huge departure from the sound the band had been known for that it polarized opinions when it was first released only to be a huge success with virtually no promotion. The album opens brilliantly with Everything in its Right Place setting the mood and the title track, Kid A, leading into the most experimental music the band ever made. The National Anthem is a genius reworking of avant garde Jazz and electronica turning both genres on their heads to create something truly spectacular. Kid A features an eclectic mix of everything that makes the band so revolutionary to modern music. How to Disappear Completely, Optimistic and In Limbo are brilliant guitar driven songs that convey the brilliant emotional depth of the band while Idioteque, Treefingers, Morning Bell and Motion Picture Soundtrack add that emotional depth and musical genius to electronic music taking it to areas it had never been before. Like In Rainbows and Ok Computer Kid A is a perfect record that warrants repeat listening with no song being out of place. Key Tracks- All of them Thank so much for reading and I know there's no way that list pleased everybody so I'd love to hear your opinions in the comments.
