Ranking All 9 Eminem Studio Albums From Worst To Best
3. The Marshall Mathers LP 2
A titular follow-on of his incredible Marshall Mathers LP, 13 years its elder, this album recaptures the essence and themes of its predecessor with the hatred and life-lessons of the new, sober Eminem, now at the top of the rap food chain, a position he may just have started working towards back in the year 2000.
With the exceptional "Rap God", Eminem seems to be bathing in accolades and basking in his own talent, and with the rhythmic acrobatics and lyrical mastery that he's expressed for so many years now arguably even better, this album stands out as a quintessential example not just of Eminem's work, but of the rap genre as a whole.
The speed at which he raps is mind-boggling, and his always-impressive mastery of his vocabulary is almost a show-off, and Eminem has every right to do just that.
Another collaboration with Rihanna in "The Monster" serves as another undeniable hit for the pair, and the brilliance of "Berzerk" is unquestionable. With this successor to The Marshall Mathers LP, Eminem manages to recapture everything that made the first so incredibly popular, and has mixed with it his growth as a performer and person in general, making for a strong contender for the title of best Eminem album, if only it weren't for the following two entries.
