Ranking All 9 Foo Fighters Studio Albums From Worst To Best
5. In Your Honour (2005)
Hugely loved by fans for it's acoustic second disc, and its ability to blend the rock side of their identity with a softer sound. Dave Grohl decided to do a diversify, as he felt that after ten years of existence, the band had to break new ground with their music.
Following on from 'One by One' and the turmoil the band faced at that time, Grohl was, understandably, uncertain. He wanted the Foo Fighters to go on, but found himself experimenting, and eventually had an acoustic album to bring to the band.
The lyricism of both the rock and acoustic halves have their own feel, the rock album focusing on universal themes, whilst the acoustic album is more revealing about Grohl and his personal feelings.
The acoustic album plays superbly in the sun, perfect to set the summer mood, while the rock album features the touring mainstay 'DOA' and arguably the best song in the Foo Fighter's arsenal, 'Best of You'.
Hailed by some critics as a "magnum opus", and hailed unanimously, 'In Your Honor' is an exceptional album from the group, and one that will surely stand the test of time.
