Ranking Every Metallica Album From Worst To Best
6. Death Magnetic (2008)
Best Tracks: All Nightmare Long, The Day That Never Comes, That Was Just Your Life
Worst Track: Broken, Beat and Scarred
Despite the aforementioned horrible production on this album, it's the easy high-point of the latter half of Metallica's career to date, an extremely consistent record where even the worst track is actually still pretty good.
The solos were back, the distinct Metallica sound was back, and it basically felt like a huge apology and return to form after the St. Anger debacle.
Fans are nevertheless pretty mixed on the album, and while it doesn't quite live up to the glory days, it's still a testament to their longevity and songwriting brio.
