Ranking Every Metallica Album From Worst To Best
2. Ride The Lightning (1984)
Best Tracks: For Whom the Bell Tolls, Fade to Black, Creeping Death
Worst Track: Escape
This was a real game changer of an album for the band, more melodic and mature than their debut, while also touting the most concise run-time of their studio history at just 47 minutes, yet still managing to cram in more certifiable classics than almost any other Metallica album.
In addition to the three amazing tracks mentioned above, Fight Fire with Fire and the title track are absolute crackers, while again, nothing lurches even close to being as bad as "average".
With a huge impact on the genre and marking an ambitious new direction for the band, Ride the Lightning more than lives up to the hype.
