14. Aquatic Mouth Dance

Aquatic Mouth Dance is one of the strongest callbacks to the '80s Chili sound, pre-Frusciante.

Anthony Kiedis comes in with a few verses of half sung/half rapped lyrics. Flea has his moment on the bass and there's some tender vocals from Frusciante during the chorus. All this gets augmented by jazzy chords and even a few trumpet lines, courtesy of Flea.

This could easily be a favourite for fans who have an affiliation for he Chilis' more experimental jazz/funk side. It's an enjoyable jam, but if we were undertaking an exercise in 'fat trimming', it would get the cut. Not least because 'Aquatic Mouth Dance' seems to Anthony Kiedis' term for cunnilingus...
