8. Thank You

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Qt3QbEzq7Q The one you€™ll wake up singing back to yourself the following morning, and the one the band put out as the first single. Thank You sees both Witherspoon€™s voice and the band on perfect form, marking an excellent entry point for any new listener, alongside longtime fans who€™ll be overjoyed at the sheer brutality of the pre-chorus arrangement. Brutality€™s all well and good, but it€™s in weaving multiple vocal lines together before letting the most memorable part of the song break through, that really lets the whole thing set up a 24/7 shop in the back of your mind.

7. Forget

Any guitarist in possession of a distortion pedal or the likes of a Line 6 has had that moment where they just crank everything up and past 11, before slamming out a basic riff that'll make the most of the cacophonous racket your speakers are already producing. Forget has such a basic riff, but it€™s one that€™ll get bodies moving live, an energy that transfers into Lowery taking centre stage for a very tight solo. Clint€™s playing tends to favour note selection and string bending over exuberant displays of technical prowess, but he does take the time to throw in some neat pull-off patterns and runs across the neck all the same. The end result is a great little section that helps elevate the song overall, rather than wrench the spotlight away from the band.
