Slipknot Albums Ranked From Worst To Best

3. We Are Not Your Kind

There has been a lot of controversy concerning Slipknot's output in the 2010's. After coming off of the cathartic experience with the Gray Chapter, they were dealt another heavy blow when long time percussionist Chris Fehn parted ways due to his unhappiness with the group's business decisions. Even when the original 9 lineup seemed to get smaller and smaller, Slipknot rose from the ashes and delivered their most savage assault in years.

Centered around the idea of mental health, last year's We Are Not Your Kind is one of the most poignant messages that these guys have ever put on a record. Rather than tap into the turmoil that comes with losing a loved one or the people who have stepped on you in the past, this is a bold look in the mirror for people struggling with severe depression. The pertinent message doesn't mean the album suffers for it either, with Birth of the Cruel almost being a throwback to the early '00s with how brutal its riffs are.

Even though this album does have a few Slipknot trademarks, these songs are a perfect example of a band making their classic sound while experimenting with different styles, like the chilling ambient tone of Spiders or the full on orchestral backing on Unsainted. It's a hard life to weather, so it's best to have something this relentless in your arsenal.

Best tracks: Unsainted, Spiders, Solway Firth
