The Beatles: 13 Tracks To Forget
4. Revolution 9
Oof. I'm so sorry, ladies and gentlemen. I'm so, so sorry. I really didn't want to include Revolution 9 but compared to everything else on both discs of the White Album, there was no other choice.
The argument can be made that this isn't even a traditional Beatles song, if we can even call it that. It's just over eight minutes of wacky sounds, Lennon repeating himself and who knows what else. This was him fully embracing the avant garde movement introduced to him by Yoko Ono, who would go on to become his second wife. Just why it was included on a Beatles record is a mystery.
If you have the patience to sit through the entire track, more power to you. The fact remains that this should not have been released under the band's name.
