The Killers: Ranking The Christmas Songs From Worst To Best

1. Dirt Sledding

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmGNp1gO1eg Well, who saw that coming? This year The Killers have absolutely outdone themselves to bring us their latest and greatest Christmas song. Dirt Sledding form the conclusion to the trilogy of the Ryan Pardey's deranged Santa, and offers proof that the time the band members have spent apart in 2015 has certainly done nothing to dull the quality of their collective work. The song and the video both open on Pardey's now depressed Kris Kringle, appearing in a rather reflective mood for the way he had previously treated Brandon. It seems he may have gone a tad too far in his pursuits over the years and is keen to make amends. In the video he is then visited by mascot spirits of various other holidays, who help him rediscover a love for life. Ultimately these four turn out to be Brandon & co, and the adventure ends harmoniously as Flowers drives Santa off into the Mojave evening. While the video - directed by Criminal Minds' Matthew Gray Gubler - is a triumph of entertainment, the song itself is boisterous and finds the band in a real party mood. From country tones to Queen-esque chorus vocals, nothing is held back on this track. Even from the first listen I found myself beaming through the duration, and the catchy chorus has been lodged in my brain since I first heard it days ago. Like a fine wine, The Killers' ability to produce wonderful Christmas songs is simply getting better with age. So, there you have it; our definitive ranking of The Killers' ten festive offerings. Where does your favourite place in the list? Let us know what your top ten would be in the comments!!
